Spring Break...

For a spring break trip, I went to Mt. Zion, Illinois to visit my friend Kendra and her husband Daniel. I went up Friday night and stayed until Wednesday.
This was taken on my trip up to Illinois. It rained on and off on my trip up there. I thought this scene was beautiful while I was driving. Pictures don't quite give you the same affect, but take my word for it. It was really dark in the background and really bright above me and the trees. That was right before it got pitch black :D.

Kendra and I decided to bake up a storm one night. It was really fun. I told her I felt like we were playing house ! IT's so fun to go visit and stay with her. We've known each other since the 3rd grade. We've attempted many things in the past...rag curls, or baking, etc....Now we're doing everything in her house :D

We spent a day in Springfield. We went through the Lincoln museum, Lincoln's house, and made a pit stop in Cold stone before heading home.

The next day....we went to Arthur, an Amish town...

This is right outside of a schoolhouse. We went to a bulk store which I have dubbed the "Baker's Mecca." So much fun! Kendra and I walked downtown and went to several fun antique stores. We drove around the countryside and looked at farms. THen we ate at an Amish restaurant. The food was wonderful...

Updates...

So, it's been a really long time since I have written on my blog! I even forgot my log ins...but I FINALLY typed in the correct login, so I'm finally here yet again...

An hour for what?!

Yesterday for supper, Bre and I went to Chipotle. Anyone could get a free burrito if they wore something with tin foil. Soo......

We waited for an hour in line for a FREE burrito! I cheated and kept tin foil to the bare minimum. I covered a headband with tin foil. At least I got free food :D

Fall Conference 09

I went to Christian Challenge's Fall Conference this weekend. It was a great weekend! Since I just started going to Challenge this semester, I found myself signed up to go. We went to Salina for for the conference. Each day, we had a big group session with the main speaker, and then we had workshops on Saturday, and free time to hang out. THey had activities going all day. Each school made teams for ultimate frisbee, bball, and volleyball. We went paddleboating, and walking around the grounds, and met a lot of people! I think I hit name overload.

We had two options for housing. We could either get rooms indoors, or go camping...which I chose! It was rather cold the first night, but thanks to sweat pants and sweat shirts, blankets and a sleeping bag, I was nice and warm!! :D

When I got home, I had to get some homework done, but then I went to do church nursery...So since I had my camera on me, I took a pic of the kids I watch most of the time. I am going to throw one of those pics in here too, just to show you.

School...AGAIN

I had two classes on my first day back at school. I'm not too excited about starting up again, but I AM excited about this being my final year! I'm kind of anxious about starting something new for next year. I have doubts that I may not be able achieve a sonogram technology degree... When I think about that degree, it just makes me happy. I like being at K-State, and my family studies major, but I just don't get have the joy when I think about a career with family studies.

I am thoroughly enjoying my roommates this semester. All of us spend sooo much more time together now then we did all last year. I am also really excited about having Laura in my same apt. complex! I see her quite often!

Hopefully I will work hard and keep steady this whole year...the end is in sight!

Summer

So Summer is almost coming to an end. I can't believe it! Now all I have to do is fit as much as I can into these last couple of weeks. Here are some of the highlights of my summer:
**Staying in Manhattan for the summer- It's been really nice and quiet. The only problem is all of the construction going on before the students return....
**Not having to move in and out of "my place" at the end of last year and beginning of this coming year.
**I got to go to Country Stampede for FREE!!
**My family and I went to KC for the fourth of July...
**I have made it home for a few parties :D
**My sisters are coming home in 2 weeks, and we are going to TX as a family!!
This isn't everything, but it's been a great summer!

Memorial Day Weekend

Another Memorial Day has come and past...huh. Time is going so quickly! We went to Grandma Clark's church on Sunday for a memorial service for all those (in their church) that past away this past year. On Monday, we went to the cemetery where my Grandpa Clark is buried.

I loved seeing all of the flags around the cemetery, and the recent rains made everything look so beautiful.

Mom said that Grandpa was facing the field so that he could watch it grow! That sounded so much like Grandpa. I miss him so much, but I know he is enjoying Heaven right now!

We also lost my Grandma Val this past year. I didn't actually make it to that cemetery this time, but she and my Grandpa Veer were on my mind as well. I am thankful that God sent her to be in our family!
Who knows, maybe she and Grandpa Clark had a h-o-m-a-d-e ice cream party in Heaven!?!?
